Bucks Youth Skills Camp moves indoors to Bozeman High School

Old Man Winter is at it again. We will be moving the Youth Skills Camp indoors to the South and North Gyms at Bozeman High School. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The camp runs from 9 a.m. – noon tomorrow (Saturday). We have 70 youth players pre-registered and we anticipate more at the door—new registrations are accepted at the door—we want as many as possible to come learn and have fun with the Bucks tomorrow.

The address of the high school is: 205 N 11th Ave, Bozeman, MT 59715. Access the gyms from the horseshoe area on Main St., near the cafeteria.

We will be offering limited concessions (water, Gatorade, doughnuts, coffee).

The Coaching Clinic will run from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Go Bucks!

Youth Skills Camp and Coaching Clinic will go on!

The Youth Skills Camp and Coaching Clinic will go on, rain (snow) or shine on Saturday. However, if we do get bad weather, we will move to Bozeman High South Gym during the same time frame (9 a.m. – noon, and 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. for coaching clinic). We are trying to get on the field, and the weather may break for us to do it, but we will make the call Friday night on Facebook and at www.bozemanlegionbaseball.com

Tryout Dates

With plenty of snow still blanketing the field, the schedule for the week (3/19 – 3/23) is as follows:

1. Hawk Gym (upstairs, next to wrestling room) M/W/F 6:45 – 8:45 p.m.—All players
2. Play It Again Sports T/TH from 6 – 8 p.m.—Returning players only
a. Players will hit in shifts, as assigned at end of 3/19 tryout
b. Due to space constraints, new players who went through the 3/5 -3/9 tryouts will not hit on Tuesday or Thursday (Tuesday and
Thursday will be Off days this week for this group)
3. No tryouts next weekend (3/24 – 3/25) unless the weather changes drastically and we can get on the field.

We will keep this schedule until we get outside. Once we get outside, we will practice from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. as a group through April, then start splitting out practices from there.

Player selections will be made by 3/30/2018.

College Basketball Calcutta is Back! March 12, 6:30 p.m. at The Legion on Main St.

Round up your buddies and head down to the Legion Bar on Main St. at 6:30 p.m., March 12.

The Bozeman Bucks are hosting their annual College Basketball Calcutta, where all basketball teams in the 2018 March Tournament get auctioned off one at at time to the highest bidder. Payouts are based on the number of wins each team gets in the tournament. 80% of the overall money pot gets paid out to winners, while 20% goes to the Bozeman Bucks. See the flyer for more details.

You can form a group to increase your bidding power if desired.

Indoor workouts Monday/Wednesday 7:45 – 9:00 p.m.

Monday/Wednesday, 7:45 – 9:00 p.m., Hawk Gym (next to the wrestling room at the high school, north east of Ruth Thibault Way). These workouts are optional, and are intended to give the players an opportunity to prepare for tryouts and the coming season. The focus of the workouts will be to get our bodies in shape and ready to throw by the end of February. We will be doing conditioning (core, shoulder strength and stability using a J-band program, legs, etc.), speed training, and improving mechanics.

We will also be offering hitting sessions @ Play it Again Sports. The schedule is posted on the SignupGenius link on our website. Hitting is typically on Sunday, but there are some conflicts on a couple Sundays, so we’ll offer Thursdays on those weeks. Refer to the SignupGenius for the full schedule. No hitting tomorrow 2/4.
