The Bucks Family is proud to announce that Bucks Alum Payton Price has committed to study and play baseball at Park University in Gilbert, Arizona. Park U. has just started a baseball program, and Payton will be part of the inaugural roster for the 2020 spring season.

Price had a huge year for the Bucks in 2018, patrolling center field as the everyday starter. He could hit top to bottom in the Bucks batting order, and was highly productive in whichever role he was called to fill. His ability to make plays in the outfield, as well as his strength as a dynamic and high OBP (.438) hitter, earned him recognition as an all-conference outfielder.

Price also stepped in and filled a huge need for the Bucks in 2018, as a reliever and conference spot-starter on the hill for the Bucks, winning or closing multiple conference games. Price pitched 43 innings, with a 2.6 ERA.

Price graduated from Bozeman High School in 2018, and has since been studying at MSU – Bozeman.

Former Bozeman Bucks Head Coach Rich Poliquin relocated to Arizona after the 2017 legion season, and has since joined the Park Staff as a pitching coach. He was instrumental in recruiting Payton, and said “as a new program, we are looking to build our team with high effort kids who will compete daily. Spending a year with Payton in 2017, I am confident he fits that mold, and we are excited to get him down here and help build this program.”

Current Bozeman Bucks Coach Garrett Schultz added: “I’m so happy for Payton. He is as coachable and hard-working as they come. Every bit of success he’s seen has been earned. His qualities as a teammate and person make him a favorite of his teammates, and he just fills whatever role his team needs him to be successful. I think he’s a great fit to help build a new team’s identity and character. I can’t wait to follow his career at Park.”
